Volunteer

There are many opportunities to come to The Care Center and help!

Tutors

Care Center students derive the most benefit from their classes in math, language arts, and social studies when they have the support of one-on-one tutors. Volunteers must participate in a tutor training session and must commit to a regular schedule for a minimum of three months.

Daycare

Do you love babies? Help out in our daycare! Our onsite facility enrolls 25 infants and toddlers. Volunteers must complete an application with Daycare Director Aida Diaz.

Administration

We occasionally need help in the office with filing and mailings, and welcome volunteers interested in helping out at our events. If you are interested and can be contacted on short notice, let us know.

Special Programs

Do you run a business that focuses on the arts or athletics? Our electives program offers art and athletic programs two afternoons a week in eight-week sessions. Past activities have included fencing, yoga, Zumba, bowling, photography, and more. Volunteer your services or space to keep our students engaged in the arts and athletics.

For all volunteer opportunities, email carecenter@carecenterholyoke.org. Include your name, phone number, hours of availability, and the specific volunteer activity you are interested in.

Visit

Visit The Care Center to see our program in action. There is no better way to get a sense of the real power of our program than to walk through our building and meet the staff and students who make The Care Center hum. Contact Jane Slater at 413-532-2900 ext. 128 to arrange a tour for yourself or your group.

The Care Center gave me hope and a desire for change. They actually cared about me and my child. I quickly earned my GED at 16 years old.
