Associate Director Part-Time College Programs
About The Care Center:
The Care Center is an innovative alternative educational program in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Since 1986 we have served young mothers, low-income women, and their children. Our mission is to provide opportunities for young mothers and low-income women who have been unable to remain in school to acquire the education, resources and skills for life-long growth, wellness, and economic stability.
We offer three integrated programs aimed at increasing the number of young mothers completing college. Our award-winning high school-level program prepares young mothers for college. Our highly supportive part-time college courses, including the Clemente Course in the Humanities, provide continuous opportunities for women of all ages to begin or resume college. Our in-house full-time Bard Microcollege associate degree program provides a supportive environment for young mothers and low-income women to earn college degrees.
Like the best colleges in the country, we incorporate small class sizes, lively academics, athletics, and a commitment to success. While students read Plato, create artwork, write poetry, and row on the Connecticut River, supports such as transportation, daycare, counseling, meals, and a nurse practitioner allow them to concentrate on their studies.
