Bard Microcollege Holyoke featured on WGBH’s Under the Radar

The Care Center in Holyoke, Massachusetts, where Bard Microcollege Holyoke is housed.

In this heartwarming and insightful interview, Callie Crosley of WGBH’s Under the Radar host speaks with Mary Anne Myers, program director of Bard Microcollege Holyoke, Anne Teschner, executive director of The Care Center, and Jacqueline Velez, Bard Microcollege Holyoke 2020 graduate. They discuss the Microcollege’s adjustment to remote learning, the impact of program on Jacqueline and her peers, and the way in which Mary Anne’s common refrain to Jacqueline “save it for Oprah” ended up coming true.

The Care Center gave me hope and a desire for change. They actually cared about me and my child. I quickly earned my GED at 16 years old.
