The Care Center’s Annual Fundraising Party on Wednesday, May 15 was a record-breaking success! With nearly 400 guests in attendance, we met the matching gift from PeoplesBank and then some.
We raised $220,000 (and counting) to support our Moving Women Forward campaign, which ensures that our onsite college will remain free for women for years to come. Here’s the incredible part: with the gifts and pledges that came in at the event, plus a surprise major gift…
We are now 98% of the way to our $4 million goal!
If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to support the campaign! In this final stretch, every gift counts.
To everyone who has made gifts and pledges to the event and the campaign, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support allows us to offer a free college education to women in our community.
We are just blown away by your incredible generosity.
Highlights
The event welcomed Oona Cook, The Care Center’s new Executive Director. Students Destiny Bermudez and Shy’heema Reid spoke beautifully about their experiences at The Care Center.
“We are told when we become mothers that our lives are over. The only things coming to an end are the old versions of ourselves that no longer have any growth to offer. This is only the beginning.” -Destiny Bermudez, Bard Microcollege Holyoke student
“Thanks to The Care Center’s new housing program, my daughter and I just moved into an amazing apartment where we’ll be able to stay for five years while I complete my college degrees. Yes, you heard that right, degrees.” -Shy’heema Reid, Bard Microcollege Holyoke student
