Back in March I wrote to let you know that we had to cancel our annual fundraising party—a critical source of unrestricted funding. I was sad and frankly I was nervous. I did not know how we were going to weather this challenging and uncertain period.
The theme of our fundraising event was going to be community and its ability to offer hope, to foster innovation, and to catalyze transformation.
It is through tears of joy that I am writing to let you know that when put to the test, our community has indeed delivered all these things: hope, innovation and transformation. Your generosity has lifted up The Care Center as we lift up young mothers and their children.
With your help, we met our matching goal of $25,000 on Giving Tuesday and then some. In total, we raised $100,000 thanks to the anonymous angel who called out of the blue to make a matching gift, our fabulous and steadfast underwriters, and you—our generous and amazing friends.
Lifted up by you, our community, our counselors will continue to address mothers’ urgent needs. Our faculty will keep teaching in their virtual classrooms. We will continue to deliver vital supplies, food, and entertainment to students’ doorsteps. And when the time comes, The Care Center will safely reopen, continuing to be a beacon of hope, innovation and transformation. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Sincerely,
Anne Teschner
Executive Director
